Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to see a dermatology specialist?
Many insurance plans require a referral from a primary care doctor. You can ask your UCHC primary care provider for a referral, or call our team to check your coverage.
What should I expect during a minor skin procedure or biopsy?
Minor procedures like skin tag removals or biopsies are quick in-office treatments. Your provider will numb the area first to ensure you are comfortable throughout the procedure.
Does UCHC treat conditions specific to darker skin tones?
Yes! Our dermatologists have experience evaluating and treating conditions that are more common or appear differently on darker skin tones, including melasma and keloids.
